Guidelines To Achieving Many Years of Superb Use With Your Aarn Super Lightweight Backpacks and Daypacks:
- Always encase hard or sharp objects in clothing before packing.
- Never haul the pack over rocks or sharp objects.
- Protect your pack in a Pack Protector bag for airline travel.
- Remove mud from your pack with soap and water when your trip is over.
- Use a soft bristle scrubbing brush to clean your pack.
- Hang your pack in a cool area to dry.
- Always store your pack in a cool environment.
- Any loose threads or fraying web ends on any of our ultra-light pack models should be melted with a lighter to prevent further unraveling.
Follow these tips to keep your ultra-light day packs and bodypacks in excellent condition for years to come!
Zip Care: Most zipper failures happen because of wear to the coating on the inside of the zip slider. When the coating is gone, the metal becomes rough, and the slider does not join the continuous plastic coils securely. These coils can separate behind the zipper slider. Keep your zippers free of sand and grit! Wash zips under a pressure hose to remove mud and sand. Do not to overload pockets and put unnecessary stress on the zips, which could result in failure.
Water repellency: To revive lost water repellency, contact your local specialty outdoor shop. There are many water repellency rejuvenation products on the market that work with our ultra-light packs. Your retailer will help you find the product that will work best with your pack.

DURABILITY: Our ultra-light packs are now made in Vietnam in a modern pack factory with excellent working conditions. Be assured that your pack is not made in a sweatshop! This factory meets ISO 2000 quality control systems. Achieving lightweight durability is a continuing endeavor at Aarn Packs. Five generations of designs have revealed any weak areas.
Durable design means we spread the loads over wide areas - The most common place on packs for breakage is where the shoulder strap webs are sewn to the pack. Our shoulder strap webs are lower, forming a continuous sling under the bottom of the pack to disperse the load. We use gussets to distribute stress over a large area in our packs.
We use multiple layers of stitching & fabric where loads are concentrated - Seams are double stitched and bound to prevent seam splits and internal wear. We use heavier fabrics at frame ends and wear points, and double or triple bottoms, also bar-tacking web insertion and other high-stress points.
Durable materials means we use expensive, high quality materials - Nylon webbing. Woojin®, Duraflex®, YKK® and Nifco ® buckles. Robin Matrix mesh 500D Kodura fabrics. Top Korean made ripstop nylon fabrics. PU, Silicon and UTS coatings.YKK ® zips. Yunan® 7075 T6 alloy frames.Ye Rang 6001 T6 hollow alloy frames.
