Genie's gear includes an Aarn Featherlite Freedom pack, with Sport Balance Pockets up front. Notice that she likes to put her hydration pouch in those front pockets (along with snacks, rain gear, first aid kit, bear spray) which reduces the weight of the backpack, gives greater balance, and makes it more convenient for accessing those items she needs close at hand, without having to remove the pack.
