Frame Support That Holds Its Shape Under Load
A frame is a load column. Stays, a framesheet, or a tensioned wire perimeter give the pack something to push against, so weight travels downward instead of sagging outward. When a frame flexes under sustained load, the bag pulls away from the back, and the wearer leans forward to compensate.
That forward lean is expensive over a week. It loads the lower back, shortens stride, and gets worse as the person tires. Some features are invisible on a short walk. Edge finishing on shoulder straps, whether the back panel moves any air, how much adjustment range is left once the pack is loaded: none of it registers in a ten-minute try-on. All of it decides how the last hour of a long day feels.
